Cherry Blossom Season

Subtitle: You Just Cannot Have Enough Pictures of These Trees

I was lucky to catch the cherry blossoms, which began in late March and into mid April. Japan is all about cherry blossoms. If there’s a tree in bloom, people will stop to take photos.

The thing to do is have a picnic with your friends, family, and/or coworkers under the trees. This often involves bento lunches and alcohol.

This is a park near my dorm.  It’s super long and winding, and I rode my bike under the blossoms for about two hours. Lots of families were out picnicking.

The following photos are from Shinjuku Park, which had so many trees in blossom. If I had gotten there earlier, I would have spent the entire day there.

The park is right in the middle of one of the busiest parts of the city, but for the most part it’s easy to forget, it was so quiet and had so much vegetation.
